We started 2024 with a new company tagline, “Here to listen. Driven to solve.” As part of a strategy and brand update, we had taken time to reconnect with our competencies and values. For us, that all revolves around our customer focus and commitment, knowledge and expertise in optical solutions, and our drive to apply creativity, big-picture and very specific thinking to solve customer challenges.

Video & Data Connectivity Solution for an Aerial Mapping Camera System

Customer challenge: Finding a solution that meets EMI requirements

Vitex solution: Having a broad portfolio of fiber optic connectivity solutions developed for a range of industrial applications such as medical, defense, and broadcasting, we were ready to find or create the best fit for the client’s 3D and street-mapping needs. 

The solution involved a number of optical products. 

  1. The pure fiber HDMI AOC worked well. The client called-out its “durability”, “build quality,” and “EMI performance” as excellent.    
  2. The USB 3.0 AOC was needed for the same application to connect the cameras with other network devices. Our solution was configured with the right connectors and cable lengths, making it easy to install and fit.
  3. Finally, 10G SFP+ optics were used to ensure adequate quality and speed.

Low-latency Optics for High Frequency Trading

Customer challenge: When you’re in the high frequency trading business, every second matters. Even shaving fractional seconds provides a competitive edge.

Vitex solution: First thing’s first. We needed to understand the clients objectives and analyze solutions from all angles as well as determine an approach to measuring latency of an SFP. Typically, those specifications are not provided in the industry. But no problem – our team was on it! We investigated latency performance options and found a path to modify a transceiver without compromising any other critical performance needs.

These are just two of the unique applications we’ve supported this year to ensure our customers not only have the technical options they need, but the team they can turn to when they’re feeling stuck.
